The Learning Community Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the implementation of our program’s community learning initiatives. The role focuses on fostering active participation, peer-to-peer collaboration, and access to learning resources among program beneficiaries. The Learning Community Coordinator will work directly with program participants, particularly marginalized youth and young women to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes their growth and success within the program. Support to be provided will be both physically and virtually.

Key Responsibilities

Community Learning Facilitation

  1. Facilitate the delivery of community-based learning initiatives and webinars, including peer learning & mentorship sessions.
  2. Organize and moderate physical & virtual learning forums to encourage knowledge sharing and collaborative problem-solving.
  3. Build rapport with participants to understand their learning goals and help them navigate available program resources and opportunities.

Participant Engagement and Support

  1. Maintain consistent and responsive communication with participants using messaging groups and other engagement channels.
  2. Monitor participant engagement levels to identify learners who may require additional support, and implement targeted interventions to boost participation.
  3. Support participants in accessing peer mentoring and other learning support structures embedded within the program.

Community Culture and Inclusion

  1. Implement and promote an inclusive, respectful, and supportive community, environment that values diversity, equity, and collaboration.
  2. Assist in fostering a sense of belonging and shared purpose within the participant community.
  3. Serve as a point of contact for community feedback and concerns related to GDEI.
  4. Provide feedback to the Community Managers regarding participant needs, challenges, and suggestions to improve learning experiences and engagement strategies.

Communication and Feedback

  1. Document and share 2 compelling stories of participant impact, learning progress, and community highlights monthly.
  2. Lead at least 1 community event and collaborative activity every quarter.

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting

  1. Help maintain accurate records of community learning activities, participant attendance, and learning outcomes.
  2. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by capturing data, sharing lessons learned, and other activities as assigned by the MERL team.

Expected Qualification

Education:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Communications, Community Development, or a related field

Experience:

  1. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in community engagement, learning facilitation, or youth-focused programs.
  2. Experience working with underserved or marginalized groups is highly desirable.
  3. Familiarity with managing learning communities or peer support groups is a plus.

Required Skills & Competencies

  1. Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills to guide group interactions and learning experiences.
  2. Ability to build trust and rapport with young people from diverse backgrounds.
  3. Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  4. Proficiency in digital communication tools (e.g., WhatsApp, Telegram, Google Workspace, Zoom).
  5. Enthusiastic about youth development, gender inclusion, and social impact. Comfortable working independently and in a fast paced environment.
