Key Responsibilities
The Business Development Manager for our training, programs, management consulting, and human capacity development firm will be responsible for driving business growth by identifying new opportunities, building strong client relationships, and developing strategies to expand our footprint in the SME, startup, digital skills, ICT, employability, skills development, and productivity sectors. This role requires a dynamic individual with a passion for innovation, a results-driven mindset, and excellent communication skills.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to achieve revenue targets and market expansion goals.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including partnerships with SMEs, startups, and organizations in the digital and ICT sectors.
• Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive positioning.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
• Actively promote the organization’s training, consulting, and capacity development services to potential clients.
• Conduct client needs assessments to tailor solutions that address their specific challenges and objectives.
• Track and analyze business development metrics, including lead conversion rates, client retention, and revenue growth.
• Continuously refine strategies based on performance data and client feedback.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to design and implement campaigns for digital skills, employability programs, and ICT training.
• Represent the company at industry events, workshops, and conferences to enhance brand visibility and establish connections.
• Develop proposals, presentations, and sales pitches that effectively communicate the value of our services.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless delivery of services and client satisfaction.
• Provide feedback and insights to the training and consulting teams to align service offerings with market demands.
• Mentor and guide junior business development staff, fostering a culture of growth and innovation.
• Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting achievements and areas for improvement.
What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
• Proven experience in business development, sales, or a related role (minimum of 3-7 years).
• Strong understanding of SMEs, startups, and the training and consulting industry.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of digital skills training, ICT, and employability trends.
• Experience working with startups or in the SME ecosystem.
• Certification in business development or project management is a plus.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute long-term plans.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Customer-centric approach with a focus on delivering value-driven solutions.
